Manny Lopez will be SCAPE's guest artist in Zoom series
Manny Lopez, a featured artist in our Holiday exhibition, is Southern California Artists Painting for the Environments’ next guest artist in their Zoom series.
“We are very pleased to announce that Manny Lopez will be our next guest artist in our Zoom series. Manny has been an Oak Group Member since 1986 and has participated annually in their shows that benefit land preservation. In addition, he has also managed Gallery 113 for many years. In his other lives, Manny has worked as an engineer, finish carpenter and farmer. In his “spare" time, he makes guitars, and as an added bonus to our workshop, he has offered to speak a bit about that process as well. The event will take place at the Empathy Center where Manny is setting up a gallery.
He speaks eloquently about the process of landscape painting:
“In my paintings I seek to express the sublime beauty that is in nature. I think my best work has been those paintings where the inspiration has led me to capture a little of the life that I think we all see before us, obvious yet elusive.” Manny Lopez
Our meeting will consist of an interview followed by a demo. If you wish to join us live, you can do so by using the Zoom link below. For those who cannot attend live, a link to the recording will be sent out after the meeting. Either way, we hope you can join us for what promises to be an exciting conversation with versatile artist and my personal friend, Manny Lopez. “
